Complete Evernote keyboard shortcuts reference — 64 shortcuts across 7 categories. Quick reference cheat sheet for Windows & Mac.
Evernote's shortcuts were reorganised in the rebuilt desktop app (v10 onward), and this table follows that version, which is what Evernote for Windows installs today. The global shortcuts at the top work when the app is in the background; everything else needs the window focused. Cmd replaces Ctrl on macOS, with a few differences noted in Evernote's own list.

Ctrl + Alt + N opens a new note window from any application and Ctrl + Alt + V pastes the clipboard into a new note without switching to Evernote — together they replace a lot of "I'll write it down later". Ctrl + Alt + S captures the screen into a note and Win + Shift + F opens Evernote search from the desktop. Inside the app, Ctrl + N makes a note, Alt + T a task and Ctrl + Shift + T a tag.
Ctrl + Q is Quick Switch: type a notebook, tag or note title and jump to it. The main views — Home, Notes, Tasks, Notebooks, Tags — sit on Ctrl + Alt + 1 up to Ctrl + Alt + 7, Ctrl + 1 opens the first item in your shortcuts list, and Alt + Left and Alt + Right move through history. F10 hides the sidebar and F11 goes full screen for writing.
Ctrl + Shift + C inserts a checklist and Ctrl + Shift + B a bulleted list; Ctrl + M and Ctrl + Shift + M indent and outdent. Ctrl + Shift + L inserts a code block, Ctrl + Shift + - a divider and Alt + Shift + D the date. Ctrl + Alt + K links to another note, Ctrl + Alt + L copies the current note's link for pasting elsewhere, and Ctrl + Space strips formatting from a pasted selection. Ctrl + Shift + X encrypts the selected text with a passphrase.
The current desktop app (v10 and later) on Windows. The legacy app and the web version use partly different bindings.
