How to use this site
How to find a page, read its table and use the tools around it.
Finding a page
- Search. The box on the home page searches every row of every page. Type an action ("split cell"), a key combination ("ctrl shift v") or a command ("git stash"). Press / to jump to the box.
- Index. All pages are listed by category, with the number of rows on each and the date of its last check.
- Group pages. Tools whose documented list is short share a page with tools of the same kind; each has its own section there, and its old address leads to that section.
Reading a page
- The line under the title gives the number of rows, the source, and the state of the page: "Checked row by row" with a date means every row is stored with the line of the vendor's current documentation it was matched to on that day. How we verify explains the difference.
- Columns. Where the vendor documents separate Windows and Mac keys, the page has a column for each, and the switch above the table shows one or both. A dash means the vendor lists no key for that system.
- Notation. Ctrl + K means hold Ctrl and press K. A comma means one after the other: "Ctrl + K, Ctrl + C" is two chords in sequence, and "Alt, H, B" is three separate key presses. "or" separates alternatives.
- Filter. The box above the table narrows the page to rows that contain your words or keys. Esc clears it.
- Copy and print. Click a key to copy it. "Copy all" copies the rows that are showing as tab-separated text, ready to paste into a spreadsheet. "Print" lays the page out for paper.
Tools
- Cheat sheet builder: pick a tool and print or export its sheet.
- My Stack: one combined sheet for the tools you use together.
- Shortcut Speedrun: a practice game that shows an action and waits for the key.
- AI prompt commands: slash commands, parameters and prompt syntax of AI tools.
- JSON API and MCP server: the same data for scripts and AI assistants.
When something is wrong
Vendors rename and move shortcuts, and pages that have not been rebuilt yet can contain errors. If a key does not do what the page says, please report it with the page address and the row.
