WebStorm runs the shared JetBrains keymap, so the editing and navigation keys match IntelliJ, PyCharm and Rider. What this page adds is how those keys behave for JavaScript and TypeScript — where "go to declaration" lands in a TypeScript definition file, what completion knows about a React component — plus the npm and multi-caret bindings that are specific here. Ctrl + Shift + N opens any file, including files in node_modules, and exported symbols have their own finder (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N). Using Ctrl + B on an import goes to the module's source, or to its .d.ts when only types are available; implementations of an interface are listed by Ctrl + Alt + B. Ctrl + F12 shows the file structure — components, hooks, exports — as a popup, and Ctrl + Shift + M jumps to the matching brace, which is useful in deeply nested JSX. Ctrl + Shift + I peeks at a definition without leaving the file.
With Alt + J each press adds a caret at the following occurrence of the word, Alt + Shift + J drops the last one, and Ctrl + Alt + Shift + J selects all occurrences at once — the equivalent of Ctrl + D and Ctrl + Shift + L in VS Code. Ctrl + W extends the selection by syntax (attribute, tag, element, block) and Ctrl + Shift + W shrinks it. Ctrl + J inserts a live template; wrapping a selection in a JSX fragment or an arrow function is Ctrl + Alt + T. Ctrl + Alt + L reformats using the project's Prettier or ESLint configuration when those are enabled.
Alt + F11 lists the npm scripts from package.json so one can be run without a terminal, and Ctrl + Shift + F10 runs the test or file under the cursor with Jest or Vitest. Alt + Shift + R reruns the last test set. The debugger works for Node and for browser code through the JavaScript debugger: Shift + F9 starts it, F8 and F7 step, Shift + F7 smart-steps into one of several calls on a line, and Alt + F8 evaluates an expression. Alt + ` opens the VCS popup and Ctrl + K commits.
