From the Brave Browser reference (60 entries) · all how-to answers

Close, reopen, close everything

Brave inherits Chromium’s tab keys, so Ctrl + w closes the tab that has focus, Ctrl + Shift + t reopens the most recently closed one, and Ctrl + Shift + w closes the window. Repeating Ctrl + Shift + t walks back through earlier closed tabs in order, which is the safety net when Ctrl + w lands on the wrong tab. Ctrl + Tab and Ctrl + Shift + Tab move between tabs, and Ctrl + 1 to Ctrl + 8 jump to a position.

Pinned tabs and tab groups

A pinned tab does not close with Ctrl + w; Brave skips it and moves focus to the next tab, which is the intended protection for mail or chat tabs you keep open. Closing a tab that belongs to a tab group leaves the group in place; closing the last tab of a group removes the group as well. Brave’s vertical tabs option changes nothing about the keys.

Mac and Linux, and the source

On macOS the same actions are Cmd + W, Cmd + Shift + T and Cmd + Shift + W; Linux matches Windows. Brave documents its shortcut set on its support site and that page is the source for the Brave table here, which also covers address-bar, page and Shields keys such as Ctrl + Shift + Delete for clearing browsing data. Where Brave differs from Chrome it is mostly in Shields and rewards, not in tab handling.
